EVOLVE

This series of work is inspired by the self-destructive nature of extreme plastic surgery and the psychological tension between transformation and removal of authenticity. Liam explores the increasingly blurred boundary between self-improvement and destruction, questioning whether plastic surgery can truly rebirth an individual, or whether it simultaneously dismantles the authenticity of the self.

Liam allows the paint to tear through the faces of the portraits, embodying the violent, irriversable nature of the proceedures. The paintings attempt to capture the disturbing yet visually intriguing nature of these extreme procedures.
