Artist Statment

I am painter and artist based in Glasgow and Dundee working mainly in oil paint and photography.

Much of my work is rooted in my lived experience as an identical twin, exploring how humans distinguish themselves from others and the performative aspects of societal norms, especially relating to identity. In exploring my own sense of self, I have realised it is very closely intertwined with my brother’s - “As identical twins, we are somehow more than one person, but less than two”. This often chaotic and dramatic exploration is what I intends to capture in my work.
