These paintings draw inspiration from a period of my life where I felt unsafe, insecure and vulnerable. Companionship in my twin hood is what got me through this time.

At the core of these works is the Michael Jackson song “Ben”. We listened to this song everyday on our way to school and in hindsight, the song is very descriptive of what we were going through at the time. The titles of these paintings are taken from the lyrics of this song
